The Laundry is Winning

You know what. I’ve come to a conclusion about all of these “chore wars” that establish themselves in the Married Couple’s home.

They are bogus.

No one WANTS to do chores! (Well except for maybe my cousin when he was two, and dusted EVERYTHING.) So to have a “war” over chores is just plain silly. Who’s arguing that chores stink? Not me! Or probably you either.

Sadly however, the mountain that is our laundry pile has been threatening to blow like Mt Vesuvius. However, I doubt our house would become the attraction Pompeii has.

(Can’t you see it? – “Here we have the petrified remains of a couple who hated chores.”)

So last night, despite my horrid track record, I attempted to do laundry again. Alex was mowing the lawn and I figured, hey toss some laundry in and cook dinner while watching t.v. seems like a fair deal to me! Only, I’m beginning to understand that I have a psychological block with the washer and dryer.

No really, I even set reminders on my phone trying to remember to toss stuff from the washer to the dryer and then fold stuff actually in the dryer. Y’all I fail at this stuff. I went to bed, woke up this morning and only then remembered that “Oops…I tried to do laundry last night.” Wrinkly clothes anyone?

I need to go buy stock in that laundry product that eliminates wrinkles with just a spritz. Then I need to go shopping.

Do you have any chore that you are just mentally unable to achieve?

  1. Hey! It looks so pretty around here! Good job.

Laundry is actually one of the few chores I don’t mind too much. Grocery shopping is my nemesis. Ugh.

Well I LOVE grocery shopping. Wanna work out a deal? I’ll grocery shop and you can do the laundry?

I am totally with you on laundry. We both hate it. I don’t mind putting stuff in the washer and dryer, it is the putting everything away part that sucks the most, especially hanging stuff up.

Although once we move to our new house in two weeks, I have committed to doing the laundry mostly myself; it will be my chore. Kind of like you mentioned with Alex mowing the lawn, my FI will do most of the yard work and I will do more stuff inside.

I’m impressed that you have committed to do the laundry. LOL I’ll keep trying to help, but I also would rather clean the bathrooms, vacuum, and do the dishes just to avoid laundry!

I love doing laundry and like doing ironing. Don’t even mind folding (except sheets) and putting away. I like anything to do with fabrics. I hate yard work and anything that makes me sweat!

Haha! Oh girl, it happens to us all. I don’t mind laundry as much, but cleaning the bathroom is not high on my list of favorite things to do ;)

LOL I don’t know, I’d almost rather clean the bathroom because that really only has to happen once a month. Laundry is every week in our house.
