So a few weeks ago I caved in and finally got new glasses. I wear contacts and have for 15 years now, so its extremely rare for me to get new glasses. In part because I hate how I look in them.
(Some people rock the glasses look, I am not one of them.)
This year pollen has been kicking my butt in terms of itchy eyes so I finally got new glasses. I still am rather adamant that I look like a total idiot, but I thought I’d show y’all what I look like with them.
The photo is crap because I, haha, had gotten up and dressed for the day so I had my contacts in. Which meant I took this picture near blind because I put on glasses over my contacts and then tried to take a photo. Oh yes I hate them that much.
Then I went one step further, I did a “skinny” jeans outfit. Y’all I have hips. I have a tooshie. I am pear-shaped, which tells me I should never wear outfits that ACCENT my huge hips and toosh. However, I found some pants on clearance at TJ Maxx and a shirt that made it so I just might be able to pull this look off. Yes, its in time for spring, but trust me I still wear jeans. I’m so white its scary so I’ll keep wearing jeans until I can fake tan my legs to not be blinding.
(Sorry for the crooked, I stink at taking photos of myself.)
This has definitely been a step outside of my comfort zone in terms of my “look” but man I hope it works. What is outside of your comfort zone clothing wise?

Cute look! I like it! I just got on the skinny jean trend last year and I have loved it ever since!

Thanks! I’ve tried skinny jeans in the past and I just looked silly, but I will say I was extremely comfortable in this outfit.

I like your glasses! and I’m with you on the pollen: my eyes are red, scratchy – and I need to hide them behind my glasses! ha

Well thank you – I always think my face is too narrow for glasses but these were a “Can’t live without” type situation thanks to stupid ol’ pollen!
Popped in from SITS! I’m lucky enough I only have to wear glasses for reading!

Glad you stopped by! Hope you’ll stop by again
! Yea glasses run in the family – I don’t think there is a single relative that hasn’t had to wear them at some point. I’m just too darn scared of Lasik to do something about it.
I have the same problem as you with the allergies- contacts kill your eyes during certain seasons…however, I have been introduced to acuvue trueye & these little gems have changed my life! I’m really not kidding. I throw them away every night & insert a fresh pair every morning. My eyes have never felt so good! Go get yourself a trial pair!! (I sound like a commercial!)

I’m actually pretty okay with my contacts, they are Acuvue as well. Its just when the first day of pollen season breaks state records for 50+ years its going to be too much at some point. So I went ahead and bit the bullet for those super bad days, I figured better safe than sorry!
I am so like you. The past three days my eyes have been itching like crazy!! I have contacts and hate wearing glasses. But, I’ve had to take my contacts out mid afternoon or evening and wear glasses for the rest of the day. But, I’m always starting my day with contacts again.
Love your new blog design. Great job!

Thanks for the compliment on the design! And I am so glad I’m not the only person who starts each and every day with contacts no matter what. The glasses are for home use because I figure, hubby is married to me, he’s got to find ‘em cute!
