It is 11:30 p.m. and Alex and I are WIDE awake.
Also our AC is doing its nightly schedule and has made it 71 degrees in our house. Which after 90+ degree temps is COLD. (Relevant info I know.) Luckily my feet fit under Alex’s legs quite nicely which means I am warm. Even if he is a tad uncomfy.
Spousal Love!
Anyway, so in the spirit of “finding my voice” and “finding a niche” within this lifestyle cum marriage blog (And yes I did just link to that word so as to avoid the tittering laughter given its modern-day slang meaning. Look it up…you might learn something!) I have decided to attempt to do at least one post a week about North Georgia. I live here. Work here. Might as well share bits and pieces about here!
So – earlier this week Alex and I tried a new restaurant to our area. I’m sure it’s quite popular but its only with the recent shopping center expansion off of Exit 20 on I-575 that we have heard of Cheeseburger Bobby’s. Now me? I am a true fan of 5 Guys so I was more than a tad skeptical about this new place.
Menu Variety – Good, but kind of limiting. If you don’t like chicken sandwiches, burgers or dogs don’t eat here. I was hoping for a small salad but no go. Having said that, I did find a burger I was happy with.
Pricing – Fair if not a tad high. Given the atmosphere / menu options I would have expected a slightly bigger range but it was all in the $8 per item range.
Food – I had the typical cheeseburger combo and the burger was delicious. Total convert here on those – some of the best burger flavoring I’ve had in a while. The fries were bland, but they had some Cajun season on hand that helped spice them up. This is just personal preference though. Alex had the Black and Bleu burger and loved it. No complains about any part of his meal for him. On top of our meal we got dessert which is custard. Y’all…go here for that alone. SO DANG GOOD!!! I got the “sample” size which is ironically plenty for me as custard is so rich, and Alex got a small.
Be aware that this is the man who typically gets the biggest ice cream out there, but the custard is just that rich that even Alex only wanted a small.
Atmosphere – good. The location we were at was clean, well-lit, and had good parking available. Plus the view was to die for.
Overall we were pretty impressed, but truthfully this won’t be our “go to” joint for burgers because of the price. Though I can definitely see the custard becoming a staple date night item. I’d say if you run across one go to it, and if you are in the North Georgia are of exit 20 of I-575, this is a pretty good and quick place to grab a bite to eat.

We have a “5 Guys” opening soon 2 blocks from here. I don’t usually eat hamburgers but everyone else is thrilled.

They are very good – the fries are exceptional.
BJ took me there over a year ago, I s’pose; can’t remember the exact time frame. Since then, I have not wanted to go back to a Five Guys. We go to the one closest to us, over in Flowery Branch. I enjoy the burgers, single for me, which I normally can’t finish (although my brother gets a double bacon cheeseburger, and finishes it plus finishes the fries), and the fries are good. My siblings and I are right there with you on the custard! So good. I have to eat a small (when I get one, which is rare) and my brother normally gets a medium or large (I seriously don’t know where he puts it. I’m guessing a hollow leg, as my brother doesn’t gain weight and isn’t overweight–must find out his secret…) with strawberries. I agree with you on the pricing too. A tad high, as it is burgers and hotdogs, but for the occasional outting with a significant other or like me, with siblings, not too bad.

Well you know Alex Maegan – a hollow leg too. I think ALL men secretly have hollow legs.
