Its Time to Admit It

It’s that time of year again. I’ve seen the signs coming for weeks from the stores changing inventory to the colors exploding outside. The weather channel has confirmed everything for me, and I know it’s true.

Football season is here.

This time of year is bittersweet for me, for I have an ongoing love affair with crisp air and bright lights. A love of men in tights and padding (I mean come on who wouldn’t??) and nachos with cheese. Alas it also reminds me that I’ve never been tail-gating or attended a college game. It reminds me that while my college was truly amazing academically speaking in the area that holds my heart it was…well a complete failure.

All women’s colleges have that con, the lack of men and tights and bright lights. I know some of my fellow alumn’s read this little piece of the internet and gosh y’all – I love being a Purple Knight. But…sweat and leather and the roar of a crowd well those are darn hard to replace.

I think if I could I’d go to a game at UGA (the school I sometimes wish I went too) and then I’d attend a game at FSU because I grew up supporting that team. Then I’d hightail it to Tennessee and attend a Vol’s game to support my hubby. Of course with all this traveling and football game attending I don’t see how I could possibly take the time to work so gee darn I’ll be on vacation for six months. In my dreams!!

Do you love football? What team do you support?

  1. Definitely love me some football! I have always been more of an NFL fan, Broncos specifically! But ever since college I have been into college football too. I went to University of Colorado and it was the only footbal school I applied to and I am glad that worked out! I went to all but like two home games while I went there and have gone to several games since. Unfortunately we suck… but it is still fun for a good while.

LOL I like the NFL but not nearly as much as I love college football. Which works out well in our house as I’m the college champion which allows Alex to cheer for my team(S) and he’s the NFL nut which means I can support his teams.

  2. I love football season too.  Who doesn’t?  I am a new follower from SITS and I would love if you would check out my blog as well.

LOL I loved college, but man….can you imagine the PK’s at a stadium event considering how we were at class soccer?? It would have been INSANE.
