Its September 11th which means today I remember. I remember sitting in the band office getting the phone call to turn on the news NOW. I was a senior and the images of the plane flying into the tower floored me. We all thought it was a tragic accident and then the second plane flew into view. We knew then it was bad.
I live in metro-Atlanta so we are near the CDC. Many kids I went to high school with had family in New York, as did I, and at the CDC. Talks were of the CDC being hit next and people were crying, upset, scared. We were a bunch of 17 & 18 year old’s facing reality that our world, the one we were headed out into in just a few short months was NOT as safe and welcoming as we had grown up with. It has been 11 years now and I never forget the people trapped & scared, the families who could watch the t.v. in horror praying their loved one got out, and the people who ran TOWARDS those planes and buildings. I cannot forget the troops who even now serve us overseas and the sacrifices they and their families make each and every day. So please stop today and think and pause before giving thanks. For we are here and so very many are not.
Today its also time for our weekly archive link party. I don’t know about y’all but I have some old posts that could always use a little love so that’s why I’m helping host this fun party. You know what my favorite thing about this party is? Its the fact that when we link up our posts it automatically gets seen on ALL of the hosts’ blogs. That’s SEVEN times the viewerships!!!
The lovely hosts are:
Debbie, author of Wrinkled Mommy.
Angelica, author of My Daily Pages
Jennifer, author of I Am Not Superwoman
Jessica, author of Sugar In My Grits
Ann, author of Rays Retreat Ramblings
Liz, author of Sunny Bug World
Stephanie, author of Our Marriage Adventure
So how does it work? Well, when you link your post into the link tool below (you ARE planning to link a post right?) it automatically shows up on each of our blog posts. So in other words you are getting your audience x 7 when you link up!
All we ask is that you hop to at least three (3) other posts and leave a friendly comment. That is the purpose after all, to share your posts with others right? So be kind and do the same for others. Alright everybody – go share!

That’s cool that the link shows up everywhere.
I imagine that 9/11 was a scary high school day. It’s a time in a young persons life that innocence may have be lost for the first time.

It wasn’t the first time of loss of innocent for the seniors at my school, nor me especially, but it sure was eye opening and life changing.
