I was attempting to take some photos the other night and accidentally ended up depressing the shutter button while moving the camera. I figured the shot was fun so I’d share with y’all!
Birds of Peace

I am so amazingly grateful that my biggest Christmas wish came true. Today Alex started his brand new job. A job that puts both him, our finances, and our time as a couple in a better place than we were before the lay-off. After this, any other gift I receive is literally icing on the cake. (Or a bow on a present as the case may be.)
Smile for the Camera

Last night we took our Christmas photos to utilize on our Shutterfly Christmas Cards.
As always hilarity ensued. Alex and I can’t seem to help joking around with one another as we take a photo.
Then of course I wanted to make sure we got a photo with the cats. They were just THRILLED to be a part of this photo. Can’t you tell?
We were finally able to take a photo that we can use on the card. Which meant Alex thought we were done, but oh no. I, the ever annoying photog of the family, decided we needed a photo of just him to send to his Grandparents.
(Being the annoying photog is great. You get out of photos faster AND get to torture your family and friends longer.)
(And if you’re lucky you get hilarious photos out of it.)
Does your family take Christmas photos?
(I hope so or Alex will use this as the perfect excuse for me to stop annoying him with my camera at Christmas time.)
Last Year’s Pumpkin

Its old but that is because we haven’t gotten lost in a corn maze yet. Never fear…that is the plan this weekend. I’ll tell you all about it, provided we come out.
(Please note I am wearing Georgia Dawg’s Gear. Yes I will ride this high until this weekend. When I may need to acknowledge that they aren’t exactly stellar.)
SLR Cameras
So for my birthday I received a wonderful gift from some friends of a Canon Rebel XT SLR camera. I’ve been borrowing this camera from them now for um….well at least 7 months. So I’ve been able to play with it and experiment with different aspects of it. Given that I was only borrowing the camera I did not invest much time in figuring out what I’d want to purchase for it.
So here I am now, with a lovely camera and no idea WHAT to purchase for it. I can tell you what I already have for it. I can show you what I am thinking of what I would like to buy for it. However, in the end I want to rely on your advice as to what I should consider purchasing for my first DSLR experience.
What I have:
- A camera bag
- Soft case with tripod grip
- Tripod
- Polarizing filter
- Camera and the standard kit lens in terms of MM abilities
- Wireless remote
What I have looked at buying:
- A camera purse or purse insert from Porteen Gear.
- A new camera strap or camera strap cover from someone like Sassy Strap
And then I’ve looked at an array of lens’ and flashes. Only those overwhelm me. A lot.
So I turn to you my friends, because I trust y’all to know what on earth I should consider. So um, what do I think of buying? Do you have any favorite website that you look to for photography advice and camera advice? Help me out y’all!
